K & M Interiors has been in business since 1990. You can feel confident that you will be listened to and that your design will reflect what you love! Each client has individual needs, so K & M Interiors works hard to meet them. You can have a consultation to help you select a paint color or look at floor planning. When working with a larger project, there are many options K & M Interiors uses to help you find the furniture, window treatments, area rugs, art and lighting you might need.
Another area K & M Interiors helps you with is education. It is important for the clients to understand what they are purchasing so they can make a good decision. There are many levels of quality and price for furniture, window treatments, duettes and blinds, carpets, etc. K & M Interiors works hard to make sure each client understands what he or she is purchasing so he or she can make the best choice for his or her needs and budget.
K & M Interiors is owned by Janis Malone. She is a member of the Interior Design Society and has been certified by the Window Coverings Association of America as a Window Treatment Consultant. In addition, she has taught adult education classes in design for Old Saybrook Adult Education and the Haddam / Killingworth Park & Recreation Department.
Janis earned her Bachelor of Arts in business and economics from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. Since then, she has worked in retail and business. In 1990, after training in the design field, she decided to open her own business to better meet her customers’ needs. She works equally in commercial and residential fields.
Janis' philosophy, and therefore K & M Interiors', is that the client is most important. Design should reflect who the client is and what his or her needs are. Time is spent asking questions and listening to the client to determine how best to pull the design area together. Issues taken into account are color, flow of the room by itself and in relationship to surrounding areas, usage of the room and budget. Working with the client, K & M Interiors will then develop and implement a design plan.
